Founded in 1968, the Allied Jewish Apartments (AJA) provides affordable and subsidized independent and assisted living housing and services to low income older adults in order to provide for Denver’s most needy elderly.  Guided by Jewish values and traditions, the AJA enriches the lives of residents—physically, emotionally and spiritually—while helping them to maintain the highest level of independence.

Over the years, more than 2,000 low income elderly residents have made the AJA home, enjoying an active, stimulating lifestyle in a supportive, caring environment.  Residents also benefit from a wide array of supportive services, including a full activity program, a computer center, social workers to assist with benefits, transportation to activities, shopping and doctor appointments, and a congregate dinner program.

For those who need more help to remain independent, the assisted living program provides 3 meals a day, assistance with dressing, bathing and housecleaning, medication management.

 

 

Agency Endowment Program

Now, as part of The Jewish Community Foundation’s (JCF) recently established Agency Endowment Program, JCF and AJA have entered into an innovative partnership based on our shared commitment to improving the lives of Denver’s senior citizens. Central to our efforts is securing crucial resources to ensure that AJA will forever have the means to ensure that the golden years of Denver’s elderly truly are golden.

 

 

Additionally, the assisted living program, which provides three meals a day and assistance with laundry, housekeeping, medication management and personal care, is available for residents who require more hands-on care.
