Denver Academy of Torah
Instilling in all students a love of G-d, Torah and the Jewish people, inspiring curiosity about the world and fostering a lifelong love of learning.
Your gift is the Prescription for a Healthier Future.
Denver Academy of Torah (DAT) is a modern Orthodox, Zionist day school, which serves students from pre-kindergarten through eighth grade—regardless of ability to pay or denominational affiliation. The school is committed to expanding its educational program to include high school grades beginning in the fall of 2007.
The school provides a fully integrated Judaic and secular education, which focuses on developing the whole child—academic capacity, critical thinking skills and moral character—while fostering a spiritual and lasting connection to Judaism and Israel. The Judaic curriculum emphasizes mastery of Hebrew language skills, comfort with use of original Hebrew bible texts and commentaries, and fluency with the Hebrew prayer book and service. Students are offered age-appropriate opportunities to participate in the state Science Fair, Moetzet Studentim (Student Council), Shakespeare Festival, and community-wide presentations celebrating Israel Independence Day.
The school offers an optimal student/teacher ratio. Learning specialists help children with individual needs, addressing both remediation and enrichment. The school also has a commitment to continued professional development for its faculty. DAT is a member of the Association of Colorado Independent Schools and the Denver Day School Consortium.
DAT is located on the Glassman Education Campus in East Denver. The state-of-the-art facility features warm and welcoming classrooms, a computerized library, a
fully-equipped computer lab, multi-purpose room, individualized education room, playing field and playground. Plans are underway to construct a gymnasium, cafeteria and large kosher kitchen.
As part of The Jewish Community Foundation’s (JCF) recently established Agency Endowment Program, JCF and DAT have entered into an innovative partnership based on our shared commitment to ensuring the future of Denver’s Jewish institutions. Central to our efforts is a community-wide initiative to secure the resources that will forever ensure DAT’s continued financial viability.
